Just following up on last post talking about the 19 new niche websites I’ve launched, just going more into the flipping side off it before getting into specific examples of developing markeitng strategies.
Site flipping has become increasingly popular amongst the young make money online set.
Buy a domian, set up a blog, do some basic branding and marketing, outsource a few tasks and you’ve got a blog website you can flip for US$100 or more.
It’s become very popular right now amongst young online entrepreneurs to attempt do this but I just don’t see how strong the market is to allow this to be viable and scalable long term.
Build and sell a website everyday? Sounds like a lot of work and a lot of dealing with people asking lots of questions.
That’s when I came up with the idea of selling web businesses. I would never leave my businesses for US$100 a day because $200 a day is more my scene now.
As soon as I made the leap to building my own sites and being a web administrator and then to outsourcing a recognised the opportunites available and pretty soon I was having a new business idea every week.
That’s when I realised I really couldn’t focus on them all but could make money developing the platforms for sale as a going concern.
A website earning $200 a month could be sold for $2000.
Then I took the next step of recognising that my most successful businesses to date were offline services I was promoting online.
That’s when I realised there would be a growing marketing for different kinds of freelance professionals and content workers who would want to develop platforms for their skills to turn into online businesses and I could provide immense value by approaching these people with ready made platforms bundled with my business marketing skills to present locals with a site as a ready made business opportunity.
By charging $5000 for the site with a years marketing, i had a serious opportunity to make money from flipping web based businesses for profit.
But my approach is to start the sites now and begin a year long marketing and branding development process so that these sites can be sold profitably in a years time, rather than depending on quick and regular turnaround on cheap blogsites.
But you never know. If they become really profitable maybe I’ll hang on to them. Or maybe once they’re sold . . .
Just start the whole site flipping process again!
