Hi this is Matt at Small Business Marketing and I’ve launched a whole lot of new web based businesses alongside my core businesses - at least half I plan to sell in a year once I’ve built them up with my small business marketing skills - and now that I’ve established web properties, I’m launching propositions immediately to get closer to connecting with sales.
I’m building up sets of businesses so I can sell off a few in less than a year, so there’s plenty to learn here about how I develop and market new online service business and then groom them for sale.
I can’t sell them until they are making profit and that may be the issue of most interest.
Yes I will have to make an effort with branding before I expect to see sales, but right now establishing the types of services and what I’ll charge for them given the costs will help me to establish how my new businesses will be organised, and particularly how I’ll be carrying out the marketing.
Establishing a competitive price is obviously the best place to start but don’t go so low you’ll make it hard for yourself to build turnover. The best way to start is to begin by laying out your basic prices and then looking at what kinds of deals, introductory offers

PPC ADWORDS MANAGEMENT
I’m not keen on the PPC right now, because it entails me writing long consultation emails.
It is a high value service but it’s too intensive. I’ll save my ppc stuff for now for
But I would have charged $US197 for 3 ad campaign amendments and 3 conultations over a month.
SEO I will not pursue actively also but rather bundle in. Very competitive market.
Is basically just PPC for bands, but if I could combine it with the graphic design stuff to produce eflyers and maybe myspace promo I might have a serious shot at something.
it was US$97 for the band promo campaign which is pretty attractive, especially if it’s US$147 counting the poster design or e-flyer design.

This is interesting from my experience doubly . . . y’know, young kids in music see event promotion as money and glory they all seem to think one off gigs will buils them, and it does matter, but gigs are not nearly worth the money and effort a lot of younger guys put into events but I’m happy to tap that market I know exist.
