Just another post about new business ideas I’m planning to start moving forward on again.

I just do that - I come up with ideas to start a new business, and with the marketing skills to back it up, I just go for it, so if you’ve got the ideas but you need marketing support, email me, Matt Turner at kurbpromo@gmail.com.

So not only am I on task but we are gearing up for the holidays so I can expect things to quieten down for a little while and I can start developing my plans.

There’s the plans I’ve got, and then the people I’ll need and the tasks I’ll have to carry out, but online you’re able to get pretty reductive. Once you have your business model, I need the primary content with which to promote it, and I need to distribute that content, and I need designers to help present that professionally.

Membership site:

A membership site is a powerful way of monetizing content and growing a community around your brand. The strong advantage of a membership site is it can be leveraged in a number of ways.

You can charge a recurring fee for high value content, or build a tribe of consumers by creating trust and authority within your niche by providing content free, and let that community grow and bubble up until it becomes a high value property itself.

If you have 100 people using a website frequently and are deeply engaged and possibly “evangelical” about the website or content or the subject matter, then you have an active base to sell to or leverage in other ways.

As I’ve thought before when it comes to creating niche marketing services - if a business model (digital coaching, marketing, blog, membership site, community) can be applied in one niche then it can be applied in others.

Do you need help setting up a membership site where you can create recurring income? Setting it up and developing it isn’t as hard as you may think. Membership sites are a dynamic way to leverage content and community in a variety of ways but you’ve got to be committed.

Email me, Matt @ Kurb if you’re interested in developing and marketing a paid subscription or membership site.

Pirate Parties and Kids Entertainment

I used to get really great money in university doing Pirate performances for kids parties - songs, games, tresure hunt, you name it. There’s been a bit of a response already, I’ve just been unprepared with everything I need. Of course I’m not exactly confident but I feel it will be good to get out of my comfort zone and start doing something really different.

There’s a great future in doing stuff for a kids market, though I’m not sure if it’s my future, I’m willing to give it a shot. I’m pretty sure once I’m back into it I’ll have no trouble and i won’t be sneezing at $200 for an hour long performance either. Unfortunately, though I see this as a interesting challenge,

Niche Service Markets:

This was what I mentioned earlier - not necessarily changing or developing anything you already do to drastically, but instead look at targeting niches specifically so that you’re building mini brands - mini sites or blogs with sepeerate nich identities designed to engage particular occupations, areas or other demographic qualiif

What I’ve got to do to get it to happen:

Designer:

I have to accept that although up until now my independence has served me well and my design skills have been passable, I have to accept that to present a professional image a need a professional designer on hand.

Persuasiveness:

As well as creating good visual presentation, having all my sites looking a lot smarter will probably lead to an opportunity to think about how the sales copy “feels”. Is it working? Am I getting those really persuasive hooks going? You don’t want to be the ONLY ONE who MISSES OUT and gets LEFT BEHIND do you?

But it’s not just about the strength of the copy but the opportunity to see how using more video will create more authority. I still see video as a powerful way forward and I don’t think it’s peaked yet.

SEO, link building and ppc optimization:

Well, you can never have enough of it! Like the designer, some reliable outsourcing will be required, but not based on finding someone skilled but someone reliable and perservering to carry out the work.

So I’ve still got more ideas for businesses - specialized services in pay per click adwords, blog promotion, gig promotion, graphic design that I’m developing I’m sure the ideas I’m most passionate about will continue to be the ones I continue to push through.

You’ll likely hear more soon if you’re following my feed!
